Busways B'EV terminal charging hub launch
A building that made the national agenda.
When Busways opened its B’EV Terminal Charging Hub, the brief was never a ribbon-cutting. It was to establish a 300-person M&E engineering firm as a serious name in Singapore’s EV future, with a Member of Parliament on the stage and the country’s media in the room.

Open a facility. Shift a reputation.
For nearly two decades, Busways had been known for one thing: primary electrical power distribution, busduct systems and switchgear. Solid, technical, respected. The B’EV Terminal Charging Hub in 27 Senoko was its move into a different arena entirely, ultra-fast EV charging infrastructure backed by solar, wind and battery energy storage system.
That made the launch far more than an opening. It had to position Busways as a nationally significant player at a precise moment, with Singapore’s Green Plan 2030 actively incentivising EV heavy-vehicle adoption and fast-charging rollout. Landing that meant securing a Member of Parliament as Guest of Honour, which called for a genuine case to a Member of Parliament’s office and faultless protocol on the day. It also had to run to the second: roughly 250 guests over a four-hour programme, and a programme of moving parts from an eight-lion dance and Lion Awakening Ritual to a live EV demonstration and media doorstops. All of it a first-time engagement, with no established playbook between the two companies.
Frame it as a national milestone, not a product launch.
The strategic call was decisive: position the hub inside Singapore’s electrification roadmap rather than as one company’s new facility. Tied to the Singapore Green Plan 2030, the launch became a national sustainability story. That gave the Member of Parliament’s office a real reason to attend and set the editorial tone for the coverage that followed.
Every choice then served the story. The programme paired high-ceremony moments with a hands-on demonstration, inviting the minister to initiate the first change on an EV bus, and Fifth Ring targeted mainstream and trade media in parallel, leading the release with its Singapore-first significance. A live interview on MONEY FM 89.3, secured beyond the brief, carried the story past launch day.
Every element delivered, and the story reached over four million.
The event ran exactly as planned on 8 December 2025. The Member of Parliament officiated, every ceremony and demonstration element landed, and around 250 guests, partners and journalists were hosted across a tight 4-hour programme.

Coverage ran across Lianhe Zaobao, Mothership, Sgcarmart, Shin Min Daily News, AutoApp and more, spanning mainstream, Chinese-language and automotive trade titles. Throughout, Busways was framed as the operator of “Singapore’s first ultra-fast charging facility in the north,” the exact positioning the launch set out to own.
Government-level validation, at exactly the right moment.
The coverage reinforced Busways’ standing as a key enabler of high-capacity EV charging infrastructure in Singapore, reaching policymakers, industry stakeholders and the wider business community at a point when national policy was actively backing the sector.
The MONEY FM 89.3 interview, broadcast two days after the launch, gave CEO Martin Toh an unscripted platform to set out Busways’ role in sustainable mobility, then travelled further as the station republished it across its digital and podcast channels. For a company moving from M&E engineering into EV infrastructure, the launch marked a genuine commercial milestone, with a minister’s presence signalling that Busways now belonged in that national conversation.
“The launch of the B’EV Terminal Charging Hub was an important milestone for Busways, not only in advancing our EV charging capabilities but also in sharing our vision for sustainable mobility. As our trusted marketing agency, Fifth Ring played an important role in helping us communicate the significance of the project and connect our story with the wider industry and community.”
