We help our B2B clients to own the space they’re in, reaching target audiences with compelling stories, inspirational experiences and generally delightful work. Owning the space demands deep insight, inspired creativity and impactful content, among many other things.

It’s not an easy task. And it’s where you come in.

This role is an opportunity to lead a key delivery function within the agency. An opportunity for the right person to apply their B2B marketing knowledge, curiosity and creativity while leading content delivery for major international B2B clients.

Responsibilities

The Head of Content role revolves around:

  • creating comprehensive, scalable content plans aligned to agreed strategic objectives, making best use of budgets to reach the right audiences
  • using current techniques to deliver content that works at all stages of the buyer cycle, from discovery through to advocacy
  • working with colleagues across the world in strategy, creative and reach to deliver impactful programmes of work for our international portfolio of B2B clients
  • leading the creation of excellent day to day experiences for our clients’ target audiences
  • presenting complex strategic recommendations and content plans to both CMO and wider senior client team in a persuasive, confident manner that instils trust
  • oversight of the activities of the content department including discovery research, theme identification, content creation, reporting and optimisation
  • working closely with other Fifth Ring teams to ensure brand and creative alignment locally and globally
  • leading by example through excellent writing
  • directing and building a high performing team
  • quality assurance, with an eye for not only the technical but also the holistic connection to brand, campaign, and target connection

The Head of Content will be active in our research and discovery work, contributing to survey, focus group and workshop activities. This will also include analysis and recommendations at brand level in addition to direct content strategy development.

You will:

  • be strategic, and also keen to roll up your sleeves and make things happen
  • be an excellent writer and creative thinker, with an understanding of the needs of readers in different geographies, industries, seniorities and, of course, across generations
  • have minimum five years of experience in B2B comms, ideally in a content role
  • have experience of leading a team, building competencies within the team, and achieving quality and efficiency improvements
  • be in tune with technology, technological advancements, and how they can and should be deployed to client benefit
  • be proficient in use of modern techniques, formats and channels
  • be well practiced in weaving a creative concept or a brand positioning line into even the most technical content
  • enjoy digging deeply into the world of your client, and your client’s client. How else would you do the job?
  • be a natural collaborator, and an excellent communicator in the written and spoken word, online and in the room
  • have excellent planning, organisation, human and negotiation skills
