Fifth Ring has been shortlisted as a finalist in the EIC's World Energy Supply Chain Awards (WESCA) 2026, in the Diversification category. Winners will be announced on Thursday 29 October at the London Marriott Grosvenor Square.
The WESCAs celebrate the energy supply chain: the operators, engineers, manufacturers and technical specialists that keep the sector moving. Very few B2B marketing agencies ever earn a place on that list, and fewer still return to it. Fifth Ring has now done both, shortlisted for the second year running, judged against the same criteria, by the same kind of independent panel, as the companies that build and deliver the hardware of energy. It's territory almost no marketing firm occupies, and one Fifth Ring has set out to own.
Fifth Ring's shortlisted story is its own diversification: productising Predictive Revenue to tie marketing directly to pipeline and revenue, and extending three decades of energy expertise into the semiconductor and data centre supply chain. Those diversification streams helped to deliver a 179% rise in inbound enquiries, a 264% increase in the value of inbound deals won, and £236k of new business in the first year in semiconductors.
The finalists were selected by an independent judging panel assessing each submission against set criteria, from a highly competitive field.
Steve Milne, Group Director of Strategy says of the finalist announcement:
"Diversification only counts when you can prove it worked. Ours was deliberate, not a bet placed in panic, with a product release tied to genuine client need, and market entry built on our energy expertise. Being shortlisted for that, judged on the same terms as the operators and engineers in the room, tells us the strategy holds up well beyond our own four walls."
Jen Maclennan, Group Managing Director continues:
"Recognition from the industry you serve is the recognition that counts most. We tell clients to own their space in the market and being shortlisted by the energy world we serve tells us we've earned ours. It says we are not outsiders in the energy supply chain but a recognised part of it. This one belongs to the whole team, and we hope to be on that stage on the 29th."
