The Job Description

There’s a lot of content in the world. It’s a noisy old place, so to be seen and heard above the noise, we need an exceptional strategist. You’ll be fantastic at (yes, you guessed it) strategizing, creating and implementing a vast amount of content for international clients.

Devising a strategy is great. Putting it into place is even greater.

You’ll be close to our teams, working directly with account services, reach, content, brand & strategy and creative to create integrated content strategies. As a strategist, you’ll be working extremely closely with planners that execute our clients’ business objectives. This is a very important position. It plays a key role in the research, strategy, planning, executing and optimizing phases of campaigns.

Client work includes
  • Creative and strategic insight-led planning across content projects (not just keyword farming);
  • Audience focussed channel selection and planning;
  • Writing articles, press releases, blogs, and social media calendars where appropriate;
  • Plan the creation of visual, audio and other content types in addition to the written word;
  • Facilitating workshop sessions to gather key inputs from clients;
  • Attending and leading meetings and events with clients and subject matter experts;
  • Championing the brand voice and messaging for multiple clients’ content;
  • Advising and implementing content ideas and recommendations for clients;
  • Researching content trends in key industries;
  • Conducting content audits of online and offline content;
  • Supporting the Accounts Team in creating strategic content and marketing plans for clients;
  • Measuring content analytics and optimizing for ongoing performance;
  • Assisting with sourcing and managing vendors such as photographers, videographers, animators, etc.;
  • AP style writing;
Supporting the company
  • Provide the business development team with relative support as required
  • Collaborate with teams internally to strategically plan and produce content to market Fifth Ring to new clients
  • Support in the development and delivery of new products and services
  • Represent Fifth Ring to attract new people and business opportunities
  • Ensure effective utilization of resources within team and delivery for clients
  • Other duties will be assigned as required and as appropriate
Working with colleagues
  • Work effectively with the Traffic Manager to ensure all client requirements are being met
  • Work collaboratively with support staff as appropriate and assist in their professional development
  • Support colleagues in all Fifth Ring locations proactively, creatively and visibly
  • Champion cross functional/regional collaboration to optimize resources
  • Other duties as appropriate and as assigned
Knowledge, skills and attributes
  • Minimum 4-6 years’ experience
  • A college degree in PR, marketing, communications, design or equivalent
  • Demonstrable skill in AP style writing (including grammar)
  • Demonstrable skill in writing content for digital channels
  • Experience and understanding of working in the field of marketing & communications
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Comfortable when communicating with clients
  • Customer-service oriented
  • Attention to detail
  • Effective time management skills
  • Understanding of the digital landscape
  • Experience with digital and media monitoring platforms
  • Agency experience
  • Creative flair
  • Calm under pressure
