Fifth Ring named Large PR Agency of the Year

Global energy industry specialists Fifth Ring Integrated Corporate Communications has been named Large PR Agency of the Year at a major awards ceremony in Houston.

The accolade, presented to Fifth Ring at the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Excalibur Awards in Houston, reflects the company’s rapid expansion in the US since it established a presence in the region six years ago.

It has been a year of growth for the company, which has increased its staffing footprint globally, with the US office alone doubling its numbers and preparing to expand into new premises.

Fifth Ring’s co-founder, Ian Ord said: “Our team in Houston has worked incredibly hard to build its reputation among its peers and, in the six years since it was created, has been a resounding success.

“To be recognised by the PRSA in such a highly competitive category – and only two years after being named Mid-size Agency of the Year – is a real testament to the hard work and dedication of the team and a welcome recognition of the consistently high standard of work being delivered on behalf of our clients.

“It is particularly pleasing to see the interaction between the offices and the influence Houston now has on the success of the organization globally, with its clients now regularly seeking support for their operations within Europe, Asia Pacific and the Middle East through our regional offices.”

Fifth Ring was founded in 1991 in Aberdeen and has evolved to become one of the world’s leading communications agencies, integrating its five key disciplines of brand and strategy, creative, digital media, public relations and advertising into one seamless offering.

PRSA Houston’s annual Excalibur Awards highlight the greatest achievements and talent in public relations over the last year and are attended by professionals from across the industry.

Mr Ord added: “The expansion of our Houston office has been among the highlights of what has been a record-breaking year in which the company won more than 30 awards and won almost £2.5million of new business.

“The strategic investments we have made in recent years underline our commitment to supporting our clients in all of the world’s major energy hubs and have enabled us to provide a truly unique service, setting us apart from other agencies operating within the energy industry.”
